Abdul Rahim Majzoob (Urdu: عبدالرحیم مجذوب; January 14, 1935 – October 24, 2021) was a distinguished Pakistani Pashto poet, writer, researcher, and jurist. Known for his profound literary contributions and devotion to Pashto literature, Majzoob carved a unique place in the cultural landscape of Pakistan. Early Life and Education Of Abdul Rahim Majzoob
Born on January 14, 1935, in Nar Sahibdad Madad Khel, Sari Naurang, Lakki Marwat, Abdul Rahim Majzoob grew up in a family with strong feudal roots. His father, Abdul Karim, was a prominent landlord of the area. Despite his family’s wealth, Majzoob chose to lead a life marked by simplicity and austerity. He received his early religious education at a village mosque, where he studied the Qur’an and other Islamic texts under the guidance of a mentor his father had appointed.
From an early age, Majzoob was drawn to poetry, finding inspiration in the works of Ghalib, Allama Iqbal, Khushal Khan Khattak, and Rahman Baba. After completing his matriculation from Sari Norring High School in 1950, he pursued his FA from Bannu. He then obtained a BA degree from Islamia College, Peshawar. Following his father’s advice, he went on to earn an LLB degree from Law College, University of Peshawar, in 1956.

Majzoob’s personal life was as unassuming as his public persona was respected. He was the father of Fazal Rahim Marwat, a former Vice-Chancellor of Bacha Khan University, who followed in his father’s footsteps in serving the community. Abdul Rahim Majzoob passed away on October 24, 2021, in Abbottabad, at the age of 86. His funeral was held in his hometown, and he was laid to rest in Sari Naurang.
